What fees do I pay on card payments, and who pays Stripe?
The business pays Stripe's actual fee and the Resovu fee for its plan (0–1 %), both deducted from each card payment. Resovu never pays Stripe costs for you. Every month you get a statement of all fees, and any over-withheld Stripe fee comes back in one transfer.
How to do it
Customer pays 1,000 Kč by card (Starter): Resovu fee 5 Kč, Stripe's fee withheld at the highest card rate.
The rest is transferred to your connected Stripe account and paid out to your bank about 7 days later.
On the 2nd of the next month you get the Card payment fee statement (notification and email) with Stripe fees, the Resovu fee and passed-on costs.
Anything withheld above the real costs is sent to you in one transfer; there is nothing to pay extra.
Check it: open the statement and compare it with payments in Stripe Dashboard (Settings → Payment methods).
Tips and common mistakes
- Resovu fee: Free 1 %, Starter 0.5 %, Professional 0.3 %, Business 0.2 %, Enterprise 0 %; Accommodation Starter 0.5 % up to 300 Kč / €12 a month, Accommodation Professional 0 %. Your current rate is shown under Card online in Settings → Payment methods.
- Stripe's fee: withheld first at the rate of the most expensive card (3.25 % + 6.50 Kč, plus 2 % outside CZK); the real fee is lower for most cards (in CZ from 1.5 % + 6.50 Kč) and the difference is returned monthly.
- Refund: Stripe keeps its fee and you carry it; Resovu returns its own fee in proportion to the refunded amount.
- Other Stripe costs of your account – disputes, payouts and Stripe Connect – are passed on without mark-up and listed in the statement.
Why it matters
Knowing the fees up front lets you price services correctly; the business pays only what Stripe really charges plus the Resovu fee of its plan.
Frequently asked questions
Are cash and bank transfers charged?
No. Resovu takes no fee from cash or bank transfers, and they do not go through Stripe.
Can I add a card surcharge for customers?
For accommodation the terms forbid charging guests a surcharge for card payments. Otherwise you set your own prices and are responsible for them.
Why is my rate lower than the plan says?
Accommodation Starter caps the Resovu fee at 300 Kč (€12) a calendar month; above that only Stripe's fee is taken.
